NGS Services

Introduction

While Nice Guy Strategies (NGS) is all about being nice, it is also about being successful. At an individual level, NGS principles are easily embraced with very little explanation. In comparison, companies require an institutionalized approach that will allow NGS principles to be embraced and maximized throughout the organization.

To provide the necessary guidance and insight, NGS offers many different services that will provide an on-going knowledge source for those seeking to retain the virtues of nice and while concurrently achieving higher degrees of success.

NGS Web

The NGS web-site serves as an on-going source of expert opinion for nice guys and collaboration with the peer community.

Browse around the site and read the latest articles and blog entries from NGS experts.

There is no charge to become a member of niceguystrategies.com. Once you join, you are free to post questions in the NGS Forums section and answer questions posted by other nice guys. We encourage you to participate in this rich and vibrant community.

NGS University

The mission of NGS University is to provide NGS strategy and workshops for organizations and events. It represents a collection of speaking and facilitation programs for businesses that will 1) introduce NGS principles into the organization and 2) demonstrate how the organization and the employees can benefit. Programs are delivered at three distinct levels and can be customized as necessary to reflect the goals of the hosting organization. The programs are summarized as follows:

NGS Keynotes · Provide insight and general direction for achieving success as a nice guy

NGS Keynotes are intended for groups in excess of 50 people and can be as large as 10,000. NGS Keynotes are always delivered by one of NGS¹ founders, Russ Edelman and/or Tim Hiltabiddle. The recommended approach and content for the NGS Keynotes consist of the following:

Prior To NGS Keynote

  • Introductory executive meetings/phone calls to discuss key NGS issues and challenges
  • Exploratory meetings/research with employees to develop an understanding of the culture
  • Presentation preparation

NGS Keynote Delivery

  • The day in the life of a Nice Guy
  • It’s a war The Nice Guy vs. The SoB The Nice Guy is winning
  • Experiences from the company executives and team members

The actual NGS Keynote Delivery will intertwine NGS’ on-going research and executive interviews into all dimensions of the presentation.

NGS Workshops · Introduction of NGS principles, survey metrics and hands-on workshop for problem solving

NGS Workshops explore the challenges of being a nice guy and how businesses and people overcome these challenges. The format of this program is designed for groups no larger than 50 people and it is intended to be a hands-on working session.  An additional NGS co-facilitator is recommended for each group of ten people to ensure that the appropriate level of attention is received.  NGS Workshops can be employed as a general workshop session or refined for a specific segment of the business.

Prior To NGS Workshop

NGS Executive Coaching and Business Consulting Services Personalized guidance and consulting to educate you and your team about key Nice Guy business issues.

NGS Executive Coaching and Business Consulting are personalized approaches for organizational teams and key executives in an organization. In our surveys, 61% of the participants indicated that they suffered from regular bouts of Nice Guy Syndrome.  To combat this phenomena, an NGS consultant will work with you and your team.  Through a series of consultative interviews and shared experiences, the NGS consultant will address the concerns raised and introduce personalized paths to achieve higher degrees for your people and your organization. A critical element offered in this service offering is the specific executive examples we can infuse into the discussion. The ultimate goal is to positively impact the company¹s worth and the employees¹ satisfaction levels.

NGS Executive Coaching and Business Consulting Services require that meetings (calls are less preferable) take place at least four times over the course of a year.  Additional meetings can take place as well.

NGS Syndication

NGS Syndication serves as a NGS content source for various publications and media, including web, radio and TV.

NGS information will be available for syndication for various outlets and in various formats. As the saga of the nice guy touches virtually every professional position and culture, NGS knowledge, experiences and insight will be shared on a worldwide basis. In this capacity, NGS has identified targeted outlets and information formats for NGS information distribution. Certain formats are naturally restricted to their associated outlets as identified below.

Outlets:

  • Daily Newspapers
  • Business Magazines and Journals
  • Radio
  • TV Talk Shows

Formats:

Articles

Articles are typically one instance or non-cyclical in nature. NGS authors can write on a variety of topics that relate to and support issues pertaining to the nice guy. The issue can be introduced by the publisher/editor or can be proposed by NGS. The composition of the articles can be based upon theory, research, executive interviews, NGS community exchanges or a combination of any of the four.

Columns and Commentaries

On a regular basis (daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly), NGS can report on key nice guy trends or stories in print or via radio or TV. In this capacity, our intent would be to build a loyal nice guy following that will ultimately purchase the publication or listen to the show more regularly as a result of the inclusion of the nice guy program.

Point/Counterpoint

As the concept of the nice guy is often very controversial, a meaningful format may consist of a point-counterpoint approach. In this capacity, NGS authors (and possibly contributing authors) will take one or more nice guy points and provide alternative viewpoints on the issue(s). This can be prepared as an article or as a column/commentary.
